Summer= float season 🛟Ever heard of the Barton to Carver float? It’s one of Portland’s favorite summer traditions. 🌞 Grab a tube, a dry bag, and a cooler full of whatever keeps you hydrated. 🚫 Glass, 🚫 Styrofoam — they’re not allowed!AND CLEAN UP AFTER YOURSELF!!!!!!Start at Barton Park and float the Clackamas River about 5 slow, scenic miles to Carver. 🛟 Expect chill vibes, small rapids, and plenty of sunburned Oregon energy. The float takes 3–4 hours depending on the current (and how often you stop to swim).🔥 Pro tips:• Bring rope to tie tubes together• Start early, it gets packed• Pack sunscreen and snacks• Have a car waiting at Carver or arrange a shuttleAlso, don’t go at all because we love to gatekeep everything. I know about it so only I should go, and nobody else. -comments
