Detroit is filling in I-375 and turning it into a regular street. When this freeway was built in the 1960s, it destroyed Black Bottom and Paradise Valley - two of the most successful Black neighborhoods in America. Now the state wants to fix it with a $104 million federal grant. But the cost has jumped from $300 million to $520 million. And construction keeps getting delayed - now pushed to 2027.If it happens, 30 acres of downtown land will open up and we'll have better walking paths and bike lanes from Eastern Market to the Riverfront 🎡🚢So here's my question: Will they actually do it? And is this a good idea for Detroit?Follow @metrodetroitinsider for more news like this.
